Whether networks are anti-war NOW has no bearing. Don’t you remember the lead up to the war? All of the networks were beating the drums of war at that time.
Other than the actual amount of money involved you did sum it up well on your own – however they also have interest in being able to dump their nuclear waste which was one of the reasons Corporate elite GE was directly able to kick the opposing Dennis Kucinich out of the Presidential race during the primaries right in front of the of the American public. He opposed the Iraq war (GE profits on war) and GE’s dumping of nuclear waste in Yucca – so they in turn reciprocated by not allowing him to continue in the Democratic Primaries by excluding him from an invite in the Las Vegas Debate. Dennis of course had a court battle over it and exposed GE on national TV.
